I did not expect to fall so hard for Monster High as I did. I watched the webisodes like a year ago, had fun but never really got into it. But my boyfriend and I picked up watching the movies a couple weeks ago and we can’t get enough of them! The puns are to die for ;D Clawdeen Wolf is my favorite ghoul, and his is Abbey.
I thought it would be fun to try my hand at the Monster High Style with myself! I asked the bf what my monster would be and he thinks I’d be a Gargoyle, which is pretty fangtastic if you ask me.
Now someone make a MH doll of this.

Here are the digital versions of my 2 new Grad Show pieces like I promised.

The girl is the previous Unicorn Indian girl I’ve been drawing, but the guy is brand new! He pertains to the story, let’s just call him an antagonist for now, until I can sort out this “story”. Neither have names yet, so I’d like to get that down pat first!

These pieces mean a lot to me beyond the characters too though. With them being my final Grad Show pieces, they really show the growth I’ve achieved through my accelerated 3 years of college. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come from high school - both skill and time wise. These are one of my most fleshed out “human forms” I’ve been able to do, as I’ve just recently gotten a hold and understanding of values/lighting. These pieces were each done in about 2 days each as well, which for me is definitely an improvement! Lately, I’ve also been trying to widen my world set and branch out into new, unfamiliar territories and culture. I’d like to start introducing more and more into my art and I feel like these two are a great stepping stone for that.

It also made my heart flutter all around me when my parents and grandparents got to come to the Grad Show and see my work. My parents have always been my biggest supporting roles in life and for them to get to see how much I’ve grown artistically, and for them to point at her and just say how beautiful she was - it was a feeling outside of this world. I can never thank them enough for helping me and supporting me through art college and in life. I love them so much.

Here’s to another 3 great years of improvement and new chapters in life!

Made some “astro”-nomical thank you postcards ;DJust made a set of thank you cards so I can thank people properly now! I was sneaky and made them postcards so I didn’t have to buy envelopes - mwhahaha! Still gotta pay for postage but oh well! I hope these hold up well in the mail. They’re not flimsy, but I don’t think they’re as hard as a regular postcard? I guess I’ll have to find out! I just had these done at the local Office Max for time and money connivence.
Industry night is tonight as well! So be on the look out for more photos of that later this week! Then I Graduate this Friday! So many exciting things, look forward to new posts!

Jelly has been trying to grow little seedlings for the last week or so. Sadly, I do believe none of them took, which is no fun! So here is a cute little gif/drawing of me working my non-existent green thumb on her little sprout to make it grow. I heard that if you put it in a lemon rind it helps it out!

Don’t worry Jelly! When I move down to LA we can start our own little garden and we’ll master it in no time!

Grad Show opened last night!

It was a great show! All of my classmates really gave it their all, and I was pretty happy with my works as well.

I did 2 new piece for the Grad Show in 4 days (which I will be uploading in digital format because the color is much better, later. OR you could check them out at MY WEBSITE now ;D ). I’ve been pretty smitten with my un-named unicorn princess, so I painted her again and this time with her dragon antagonist! Since I’m always digitally based it’s pretty cool to get to see my works printed and hung up.

The middle TV had my “demo reel” looping through out the show. It had some of my 3D animation, 3D stills, 2D Moving Graphic Animations, and the like.

I also got a flat book done of my works from MyPublisher. I’d totally recommend them (snag a deal from Groupon or Amazon Local), prints were really top notch! I had a few darker pieces were in there and I was worried about them getting lost, but all the details were there, not too dark at all. I felt super cool having a real book with my works in it. Warm fuzzies all around!

My business cards are from Moo.com and they’ve quickly become my favorite printer. Seriously top notch and they just feel good.

There is another “show” called industry night which I get to dress up for again so expect a few more photos from that!

Thanks for everyone’s support

So cool collab with Katrina!I've been on a Sailor Moon binge lately (who isn't with the new one so close to coming out, amirite?) so I asked Katrina to doodle me up some cutie pie Sailor Scouts! And boy did she deliver, gah I just love Serena's face.Sorry if it’s a bit dark? It’s ok on both of my monitors, but sometimes my brightness is a bit off~Sketch by KatrinaLines, Coloring by Me

Sorry things have been so dead around here this year you guys! This is mostly because I’m graduating from college this semester! :D I’m super excited about it, but because of it, art has been put on the back burner. (Oh the irony of that sentence.)
I’ve been planning sooo much these past months (family visits, a grad party, figuring out work, etc.) and on top of that I still work a job and have a full course load, so I’m going to quickly be running on fumes.
However, graduating means that I get to make the great trek to California! I’m going with my current roommates hopefully in May, so be on the look out for a dead zone there too. I’m super excited about this change in my life, but it’s going to take a lot of my time and effort.
Don’t worry though! I still have to pump out some new artwork for my grad show, so expect AT LEAST 2 new pieces from me soon.
I also just revived my grad announcements from moo.com the other day! I’m soooo happy with the quality of these cards, I’m going to use moo for everything. Now I just need to address them and ship them out >.<

Thanks for being patient with me and sticking around ♥

I know I’ve been pretty dead around here, but I’ll write a pot about that later! For right now, please enjoy this piece I did for a friend. Recently her beloved best friend and pet rat, Emmy, passed away. As a showing of support a lot of our friends came together to create pieces for her! It was a really great turn out.I went for a lightly funnier route - as my friend LOVES Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Check out the other pieces here!

FINALLY! After so many hours working on this (that I won’t admit to) here is the final version of the line art for my Loki piece I’ve been up to recently. I think he’s the most detailed piece I’ve ever done. It swung between absolute love and tranquility of doing so much detail, to being upset that it never ended. In the end, I loved it though :)Low res version, WIP for now! Gotta color him and possibly even get some prints done of him. Any takers?
